Search - A Guide
| |

|
You have a
product and you think you have a name for it, now how do you
know if you can really use that name, it may happen that you
are using a registered trademark name.
Many
people begins using a name without knowing if they really
can use the name, and they put up big marketing campaigns
with names that later they find they cannot use. Searching
for your trademark before you choose a name is a wise
decision so you avoid investing time and energy in names

Trademarks Basic Facts |
| |
Trademarks are
registered in classes. There are 45 classes, and these
classes group all known products and services. You can
register the same trademark if there are similar classes,
for example you may register the trademark KING for
computers in class 23, and you can also register the same
trademark in class 24 for cosmetics.
In general
you cannot register trademarks that are too descriptive or
generic for a service (For example, you cannot register the
term “CAR” for cars). You cannot also register trademark
that are too similar to others, for example you cannot
register HAMASON for online book store.
Trademark
registrations are granted by government, in general you must
register your trademark in all the country that you wish to
promote your products.} Trademark registration is a long
process, in general it takes more than a year, so that is
why it is very important that you do a Trademark Search
before using your trademark and before applying for
registration. : |

How to Trademark Search |
| |
First thing is to define the
class you want to register, in the following link you will find
a
trademark class search engine
where you put your product/service and it will tell you the
class or classes you should register.
After you have determined
your class, then you must try different combination of your
name, for example if you are searching for AMAZON, you may look
for AMASON, HAMAZON, etc. Try different combination as much as
possible.

How to Trademark Search |
| |
Trademark Search may be difficult and time
consuming if you don’t have the expertise. Also there are
several countries in which there are no online trademarks
database and you have to go physically to Trademark Office and
ask for list of trademarks.
In order to facilitate this, our company
provides a Trademark Comprehensive Study. The Study will inform
you about the classes where your trademark should register, then
it will list you similar trademarks and finally the Study will
give you a recommendation about registration possibilities and
use of your trademark.

Trademark Search Report for USA.
For other countries, please go to
International Trademarks and then select your
country.
