What are the registration requirements for .MM domains?
.COM.MM, .NET.MM, .ORG.MM or .BIZ.MM:
In order to register in these extensions, the domain owner must have a company/subsidiary incorporated in Myanmar.
If you do not meet these requirements, we can register the domain in the name of our local representatives and then make it available to you. This option has an additional cost (Trustee Service).
Notes:
- For the .COM.MM, .NET.MM y .ORG.MM domains, you can only point to local default DNS name servers. In order for the domain to resolve, you can provide other records such as A, MX, TXT, CNAME to your desire IPs.
- For the .BIZ.MM domains, you can submit your own DNS name server
What does .MM stand for?
.MM represents the official domain extension or the internet country code top level domain (ccTLD) of Myanmar. The authorized body carrying out its registry is the Ministry of Communications of Myanmar.
Aside from usage as Myanmar’s two-letter country code, MM is also used as an acronym or abbreviation for other words. Other popular uses of MM include: million (numbers), memory module (computing), money market (commerce), marketing manager (occupation), Mitsubishi Motors (car brand), millimeter (unit of measurement), Metro Manila (location), Eminem (musician) and M&M’s (chocolate brand).
